About ACMC

Who We Are...

The Armstrong County Manufacturing Consortium is a non-profit organization and exists to assist each of its members to individually, and collectively, become successful competitors in the domestic and global market place.

ACMC’s members represent the typical infrastructure developing within Armstrong County. The Consortium’s diverse membership consists of a cross section of manufacturing related companies who produce quality services, high precision parts, electrical and electro-optic components, advanced semiconductor materials and more. Our membership also includes manufacturers of fine wood products, refractory products, a processor and merchant of graphite, a producer of viscoelastic foams and a producer of high performance night vision products. The Consortium is operated and exclusively financed by its member companies whose representatives have an equal voice on the Board of Directors, which meets monthly.

All of this helps the members of ACMC to stay competitive in the marketplace and work cooperatively toward successful and efficient manufacturing in Armstrong County.

Our History...

ACMC began with the new millenium and was facilitated by the Armstrong Educational Trust. In 2004 the Membership of ACMC realized that in order to continue to move forward, they would need to recreate the consortium as a group led solely by its member companies. This action was accompanied by the development of a Charter Agreement, Mission Statement and the election of officers. The appointment of officers allowed the Consortium the opportunity to tackle the challenge of bringing a group of creative, diverse, dynamic, and independent individuals into a cohesive unit that would share and lever Member resources for mutual competitive benefit.

Looking toward the future, the Consortium continues its commitment to the applications of Lean Thinking. ACMC jointly sponsors events focusing on excellence and learning opportunities for its member companies. The group strives for the continued success of each individual Member; building alignment with key non-competing organizations, institutions, suppliers, associations, networks and providers.
